Intuos3, great product, flawed software : Wacom Intuos3 6 x 8-Inch Pen Tablet

Overall a great product. I thought I should mention something to anyone who may encounter the same problems I did. Firstly, do not use the driver version that ships with the tablet, go to Wacom.com and get the latest version. The version that shipped with mine left huge 'dead areas' in my tablet where it could not detect the pen (EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING) and caused occasional system hangs.

Even with the latest software, cccasionally when using Photoshop the tablet seems to lose its ability to detect pressure variation, this is resolved by restarting Photoshop, but it seems a problem that would be easily fixed in the software.

A simple pen test function would be nice to have in the configuration program (where you could paint in a little box and test pressure and sensitivity). The Graphire series had this feature and I wish it was built in to the Intuos software.

Quality of the product makes up for the few software flaws/inconveniences.

A must have for Photoshop retouching. : Wacom Intuos4 Medium Pen Tablet

I use the tablet for sketching. I love the 2048 levels of sensitivity, because the pencil feeling is closer and also the multiple functions on the tablet make it a very functional and versatile tool. However, I use sketchbook pro which is a very easy program, but very practical and agile, and in this program I found very disappointing the delay shown in the wireless tablet. It make the tablet useless, due that this delay disturb the sketching and you can't sketch as agile as you ordinarily do on paper. I have to use it wired to be able to have the quick response I expected. If you use this tablet on Photoshop or Illustrator, you have no problem with it. Is wonderful, but if you use, sketchbook Pro, Corelpainter, ArtRage or some sofware similar, wireless tablet is surely not the choice.

Nice as a jumbo trackpad : Wacom Bamboo Capture Pen Tablet (CTH470)

Bought this tablet after spending over 4 years with a Genius G-Pen that, although not the best out there, categorically wasn't the worst. Plus, it was about time to upgrade to a true tablet like Wacom, so I went and got this one.

First off, the build potential on this thing is naturally superb. The tablet feels rugged and rough, and all was solid and working right off the bat... Sort of.

The tablet deserves a 5, it categorically does. But it sadly loses it on account of lack of schooling on setting it up properly so it worked, as well as lack of troubleshooting support on the matter. I followed the instructions: drivers first, connect tablet later. I tried to use it, but the strokes were slow and skipped: I started to draw lines at one point, but then the "dot" would appear someplace else like 3 seconds later.

So overall, I applied the explication typed below and now the tablet works wonders. It works Perfectly. :3

In the end, I Very Strongly suggest this option. Besides, free programs like Photoshop Elements. How can you Not go wrong?

So I took to Google. After doing much googling, I found the solution. It's categorically very simple. Steps below are for Windows 7 Home Edition, may slightly vary for other editions. Admin mode/run as administrator recommended:

1) control Panel
2) Programs and Features
3) Turn Windows Features on or off
4) Look up Tablet Pc Components, and remove the checkmark.
5) select Ok, and restart the machine.
6) Once restarted, try the tablet again with fast strokes, especially on pressure-sensitive programs like Sai or Photoshop/Photoshop Elements.
